Basics

Nerdiest obsession: The Lord of the Rings j00 pwn 411 @: Grammar Wastes way too much time on: Animal Crossing and lolwut tv Hates with the fiery passion of a thousand suns: Those people. Those people that try to be sooo cool and hip to everything. Those people that think they know everything. Those people that think they understand. Because they aren’t. Because they don’t. Favourite female nerd: Rose McGowan, Enid Coleslaw Favourite male nerd: Bill Gates, Damian Hess, Bill Nye, Lars Horris

Most embarrassing nerd related memory: The time I dressed up as Ash Ketchum for the school character parade. I will NEVER live that down. Wanted to be ____ when you grew up: an opera singer, a rock star, an actress, a mortician, an artist, a princess, a teacher, a psychiatrist, a baker, a video game designer, a web designer, the wife of Rivers Cuomo, a mechanic, and the list just keeps growing… Biggest nerdy triumph: Getting my first [and oh-so-nerdy] tattoo. Nerdy line that makes you swoon: IF I use Boolean logic to seduce you, THEN will you come home with me ELSE my heart will have a runtime error. Top 5 sites visited daily: MySpace, Penny-Arcade, lolwut tv, /b/, LiveJournal Top 5 things everyone should check out A.S.A.P.: Creature Feature, Little Britain [the original BBC series], Colin’s Bear [changed my life], Nerdcore Hip Hop, Dance Dance Revolution [Do it. You’ll like it. If not, then you have failed yourself.]

Books

Fave book(s): The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, Heaven by V.C. Andrews, Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, Sarah by J.T. LeRoy, Walden by H.D. Thoreau Fave author(s): J.R.R. Tolkien, Chuck Palahniuk, J.T. LeRoy, H.D. Thoreau, Edgar Allen Poe, Bruce Campbell Most disappointing "based on the novel" film: I once read a book in fifth grade, and then watched the movie. I don’t remember what the title was, only that it had to do with a kid moving to a house and there was a ghost in the cellar. But the movie was absolutely different from the book! Even the names were changed. What’s the point of that? Also, both films that recently came out that were based on Beowulf – a story which I love dearly – were absolutely horrid. Book you'd love to see made into a film: Sarah, but only if I played Sarah. Most impactful book/author: Thoreau First book you ever read: The Hobbit First book that made you REALLY like reading: I’ve always liked reading, but I never seemed to find time for it. It was when I readSarah by J.T. LeRoy that I really got back into the habit of reading. Currently reading: WATCHMEN by Allen Moore

Video Games

Fave game(s): Paper Boy, Harvest Moon, Halo, Gears of War, Portal, Team Fortress 2, Fable 2, Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Animal Crossing, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Dance Dance Revolution Fave character(s): Master Chief, Duke Nukem, Gordon Freeman, GLaDOS, Little Sisters, Luigi, Ganondorf, Snake, Anthony and Benjamin Carmine, K.K. Slider, Derwin Biggest cash grab game(s): I’ve spent the most on Halo 3. Spent way too much time playing: Not counting the almost two hours I devote a day to Animal CrossingFable 2. I SWORE I wouldn’t… But I was hooked! Most disappointing ending in a game: OTRSPOD 2. Weakest boss fight EVER! Everything up until that point was a spectacular leap forward from the first game. I’m still excited about Episode 3. Would fit right in: Animal Crossing, LotR Online, Fable 2, OTRSPOD… See a pattern? First game ever played: I have NO idea… But whatever it was, it was on the NES. Still my favorite console of all time… :) Currently playing: DDR Universe 3 for the XBOX 360

History

Fave Era, aesthetically:1930s – 1940s Fave historical character: Alexander Hamilton Fave historical text: Civil Disobedience by H.D. Thoreau Fave historical film: Glory Current area of research: 1800s Fave historical blunder: “640Kb ought to be enough for anybody.” - Bill Gates, 1981 Pet-peeve non-history nerds make: Pirates hardly ever did the whole “walk the plank” thing.

Art

Fave artist(s): Vincent Van Gough Fave piece/work: Starry Night by Vincent Van Gough. Always has been. Always will be… To be lost in those stars… Fave medium: pencil, oil paint, charcoal

Music

Fave band(s): Creature Feature, Ween, Modest Mouse, Weezer, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Matchbox Twenty, The Pillows, Barenaked Ladies, Flight of the Conchords Fave musician(s): Cyndi Lauper, Jonathan Coulton, MC Frontalot, Bob Dylan Fave voice(s): Mary Fahl, Annie Lennox, Danny Elfman, Freddy Mercury, Dean Martin, Barbara Streisand Fave album(s): Pinkerton by Weezer, Lonesome Crowded West and We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank by Modest Mouse, Sam’s Town by The Killers, Yourself or Someone Like You by Matchbox 20, Born on a Pirate Ship by Barenaked Ladies, Nerdcore Rising and Final Boss by MC Frontalot, Songs from the Wood and War Child by Jethro Tull, News of the World by Queen, Elton John by Elton John Best concert/Best band to see live: The first time I saw Ween [April 2007] would have to be my favorite concert. Creature Feature is always fully enjoyable to see live. The third time I saw Weezer [September 2005] was AMAZING! Modest Mouse is probably the greatest live band because of the way Isaac Brock blends his songs. Worst concert/Worst band to see live: I didn’t have too much fun when I saw Bon Jovi. I was almost crushed to death when I saw the Foo Fighters [September 2005]. First concert: Matchbox Twenty [2001] Currently hooked on: Imogen Heap

The graphic novel quickly became one of my most favorite and beloved literary works. I had such high hopes for the movie. It's not that it wasn't beautiful in it's appearance or not well portrayed by the actors, but it's what they left out and what was changed that let me down... Especially sugar cubes... First film ever watched: My guess is either Mary Poppins, one of the Muppet movies, or The Little Mermaid. Fave soundtracks: The Lord of the Rings, The Darjeeling Limited, Hancock, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Garden State

Science

Fave theory: Evolution Fave scientist(s): Albert Einstein, Bill Nye Most important discovery/invention: the phonograph cylinder Fave experiment(s) you've ever conducted: Making a bouncy ball and silly putty. Yes. Making them. Way cooler than the time I built a crystal garden. First time you realized you were into science: Eleventh grade. My science teacher was a kick-ass nerd. We always did the best experiments. How many science teachers actually let you smell “death”?
